Schizophrenia

It is a mental disorder that hinders:

• The difference between what is real and unreal.
• Think clearly.
• Have normal emotional responses.
• normally act in social situations.

Causes:

Schizophrenia is a complex disease. Mental health experts are not sure what causes it. Genes may play a role. It occurs equally in men and women. It usually starts in the teenage years or early adulthood, but may begin later in life. It tends to start later in women and is a milder condition.

Schizophrenia in children usually begins after age 5 years old. It is uncommon in childhood and can be difficult to differentiate from other developmental problems such as autism.
