The exact cause of Alzheimer's is unknown (AD, for its acronym in English). Research shows that certain changes in the brain lead to this disease.
You are more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease if:
- Is older. The development of this disease is not part of normal aging.
- Having a close blood relative, like a brother, sister or parent with the disease.
- Some have linked to Alzheimer's genes.
